What happens when we let go of ego’s need for control?

We’ve seen how ego fuels division, both externally in conflicts and internally through self-sabotage. Today, let’s focus on resistance. The fight against change, and how releasing ego leads to true peace.

So why does ego resist change? Well the main reason is it loves the familiar. It fears the unknown because uncertainty means surrendering control. This is why we hold onto old relationships that no longer serve us, jobs that drain our energy, or beliefs that limit our growth.

Even when we know better, ego convinces us that staying put is safer than stepping into the unknown. It tells us, “What if you fail? What if you regret this? What if they don’t approve?”—and that fear keeps us stuck.

Resistance shows up in all of our daily lives. I’m guilty of overthinking, doubting my actions and just avoiding choices that push me outside our comfort zone. Other resistance comes in the form of procrastinating which results in us staying in cycles. Or waiting for the “perfect” time. Ego (pride) holds grudges, refusing to apologize, and struggles to be vulnerable.

We just have to remember what we’ve learned on this journey. Go with the flow and see where the universe takes us . Remember the power of flow. Remember the Art of Effortless. As well as remember Not to take everything in life personally. 9 times out of 10, it’s not about us. With these we can practice allowing life to unfold instead of forcing control.

Ways to push back on the resistance Ego creates in our lives.

– Instead of fearing change, trust the process
– Instead of forcing outcomes, align with the flow
– Instead of holding onto what no longer serves us, release with peace

You can move from resistance to peace. The next time you feel resistance, pause and ask: Is this fear or intuition? Let go of attachment to specific outcomes. Trust that what’s meant for you will align. Growth happens in the unknown. The sooner we surrender, the sooner we move forward.

We are the creators, but creation requires movement. Let’s step outside the ego, embrace change, and let the universe work in our favor. 🙏🏾💚✨
