MDC’s BIT Center, in Partnership with Nebulai and Dragonchain, Explores Blockchain Technology in Two-Day Workshop June 1-2

Miami, May 24, 2021– Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Business Innovation & Technology (BIT) Center will explore different aspects of blockchain technology in the two-day conference “Blockchain Sessions” June 1-2, 9:30 a.m. to noon.

This limited-seat in-person event will be held at the BIT Center facilities located at MDC’s Wolfson Campus. The workshop can also be followed online through https://tinyurl.com/rmfm6fk and is free and open to the academic community and the general public.

We are thrilled to offer for the first time at MDC this two-day seminar to generate a bigger understanding of one of the most exciting and disruptive technologies of our time,” said Chechu Lasheras, BIT Center Director. “As Miami continues to grow and be recognized as a technology hub, we at the BIT Center are proud to facilitate opportunities to learn about new technologies such as blockchain and to hear from top experts in the field free of charge.”

During the activity, organized in partnership with Nebulai, a Miami-based digital transformation solutions federator and global marketplace, and Dragonchain, a technology leader in the blockchain space, attendees will have the opportunity to delve deep into the fundamentals of blockchain and understand how this new technology works.

“Nebulai is technology for good company. Our objective at Nebulai is to create a fair and trusted technology solutions and human talent ecosystem. Our decentralized marketplace will allow technology providers and human talent to sell and monetize their solutions and skills through Smart Contracts. We wanted to organize this event in collaboration with Miami Dade College to create awareness among students, staff, alumni, and the local business community of Blockchain topics and their relevance to business and society. We also wanted to highlight MDC’s focus on driving emerging technology topics and bridge the knowledge gap of the local community as it relates to the 4th Industrial Revolution,” said Stefano Gulbalis, Chief Innovation Officer at Nebulai.

Discussions will be led by leaders in the field such as Francesca de Quesada Covey, Investor & Former Libra Association + Novi Wallet, Facebook; Eric Kuhn, Senior Program Manager, Decentralized Identity at Microsoft; Raja Naeem Akram, CEO and cofounder at Seclea and Michelle Tsing, Director at Standard Protocol, Inc., among others. This workshop coincides with Bitcoin 2021, the largest conference on the subject, taking place in Miami for the first time June 4–5.
