XRP Used as Bridge Asset in 11,009 XRPL DEX Trades, Facilitating 246,000 XRP in Swaps

XRP was used as a bridge asset in 11,009 trades on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) decentralized exchange (DEX) last week, with 246,000 XRP facilitating swaps between different tokens.

XRPL validator Vet, also known as Hussain Zangana, shared the figures in a post on X, highlighting the role of XRP in providing liquidity between assets traded on the network.

According to Vet, RLUSD, Bchamp, Fuzzy, XAH, LHT, and Army were among the tokens involved in trades that used XRP as a bridge asset to improve liquidity.

An accompanying visualization showed daily bridging volume rising steadily from October 19 to October 25, 2026, ending near 228,000 XRP.

Vet noted that the percentage increase varied depending on whether explicitly specified XRP bridging and automatically applied auto-bridging were counted, ranging from 100% to several hundred percent.

XRP Facilitates Swaps Between XRPL Tokens

XRP’s role as a bridge asset allows traders to exchange two different tokens without requiring a direct trading pair between them. Instead, the DEX routes a transaction through XRP, connecting the two assets and improving the available exchange rate.

For example, a trader seeking to swap one token for another may use XRP as an intermediary when a direct market between the two tokens is unavailable or less favorable. Vet’s latest figures highlight this functionality across multiple XRPL-based assets.

Notably, a user asked where they could monitor the data. Vet said no dedicated tracking site exists yet but suggested developing one. He added that anyone could collect the information relatively easily by extracting it directly from the XRP Ledger.

Earlier Data Showed RLUSD Role in Auto-Bridging

Vet shared similar data in February, when 477 auto-bridging events occurred on the XRPL DEX within 24 hours. The EUROP/RLUSD pair accounted for 124 events, making it the most active pair in the reported breakdown.

RLUSD/BBRL, involving Braza Bank’s Brazilian real stablecoin, recorded 67 events, while USDC/RLUSD accounted for another 46.

Vet estimated that approximately 15,000 XRP was used to provide liquidity through these transactions.

The validator also reported that 92% of all trades involved token/XRP pairs, while token/token pairs accounted for the remaining 8%. Of the token/token trades, 0.8% triggered auto-bridging.

The February figures showed how XRP facilitates exchanges involving stablecoins and other tokens, including relatively small transactions.

Tokenization Could Expand XRP’s Bridging Role

Meanwhile, Vet argued that the activity illustrates how XRP can support various tokenized assets on the XRPL. The network’s DEX allows users to trade different issued tokens, while auto-bridging routes eligible swaps through XRP when it offers a suitable trading path.

The validator previously linked this functionality to the possibility of more institutional activity on the network, including Ripple Payments interacting with the DEX, Evernorth participating in the XRP ecosystem, and institutions issuing and trading tokenized assets.
