Cardano Founder Says Working to Solve Crypto’s Biggest Problems

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson says he is developing a concept for Midnight that will address several problems in the industry.

He describes the planned innovation as the “magnum opus” of his career. Notably, Hoskinson shared this in a post on X, saying he had nearly completed the conceptual design. He believes the initiative will bring something unique to the crypto space through Midnight.

Hoskinson Says Cardano Will Be Complete After Leios

Meanwhile, amid Hoskinson’s teaser about a new development for Midnight, some community members turned their attention to Cardano. Specifically, X user Matthew Casey asked Hoskinson whether Cardano was finished in the sense that it had achieved its core development goals.

Hoskinson replied that Cardano would be complete after the implementation of Leios, its planned scalability upgrade.

“After Leios, yes. It has everything I wanted to do,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Hoskinson noted that his vision for Cardano includes decentralized governance and development, secure consensus, the eUTXO model, Plutus smart contracts, and improved scalability.

He also highlighted Cardano’s strong security, support for different node implementations, and ability to evolve over time. He also added that millions of people already hold ADA.

Significantly, Leios aims to increase Cardano’s transaction capacity without changing its core design. Its implementation remains a major milestone in the network’s development.

Midnight’s AI Trading Plans Show Its Future Direction

The latest comments from Charles Hoskinson come as Midnight explores uses beyond its privacy-focused blockchain. During an October 13 discussion, the Cardano founder revealed plans for Midnight City to support AI cryptocurrency trading in the coming months.

The feature would allow users to fund wallets and set up AI agents to trade crypto assets in different blockchains based on their goals and strategies.

Midnight also plans to create marketplaces where AI agents can discover and share trading strategies designed by others.

The project is developing Midnight Passport, which is an identity system that links AI agents to their users. An initial version is expected in late 2026.

Midnight has also adopted the Open Wallet Standard, which aims to help AI agents access wallets and carry out transactions in different blockchains and other systems.

These plans offer some insight into Midnight’s future direction. However, Hoskinson has not confirmed whether his latest teaser about a project he called the “magnum opus” of his career is connected to the planned AI trading system.

Midnight Ambassador Supports Hoskinson’s Vision

Tommy John, who identifies himself as a Midnight ambassador, praised Hoskinson’s leadership and expressed confidence in his vision.

“Boss, I sleep well at night knowing you’re behind the wheels. Proud to be a Midnight ambassador,” John wrote.

Notably, Hoskinson has not yet announced when he will reveal the new concept or explained what it will involve.
