We’ve uncovered two major energy leaks this week, overthinking and ignoring natural rhythms. Today let’s look at a leak that could be the most subtle and hardest to break free from….emotional loops & attachments.

These are the cycles of thoughts, emotions, and connections we can’t seem to let go of. The past wounds, the unresolved conflicts, the need for validation, the “what if” scenarios running in the background of our minds. Loops & attachments like

– That grudge we won’t release.
– The friendship that’s draining but “too deep” to walk away from.
– The story we keep replaying, convincing ourselves we’re stuck.

These emotional leaks silently drain our energy every single day. If overthinking is a mental drain and poor sleep is a physical drain, emotional attachments are a soul-level drain.

So What’s The Energy Cost of Emotional Loops?

We’ve already discussed Energy Vampires. Those external forces that leave us feeling drained after every interaction. But what happens when the vampire is our own mind?

Unprocessed emotions = stuck energy. When we cling to emotions like anger, resentment, regret, or longing, we are feeding a loop that keeps playing in the background, pulling power away from the present moment.

Holding on to past hurts? That’s energy spent reliving old wounds instead of creating new experiences.

Constantly seeking closure? That’s energy spent waiting for something outside of us to give permission to move forward.

Feeling guilty for prioritizing peace? That’s energy spent justifying why we deserve it.

I know for me, sitting in thoughts of past hurts & trying to reflect on how to get closure. All easily puts me right back in that negative/low energy. It’s like I never healed or released. And then I begin to attract energy similar to the low one I’ve been in while stuck in that loop.

This is where we apply what we’ve learned from Wu Wei. It taught us to let go of unnecessary resistance. What if the only reason we still feel stuck is because we refuse to release what no longer serves us?

So Can We Break Free?

Recognize the Cycle
If a thought, person, or situation keeps circling back, pause. Ask: Am I replaying this, or is it actually happening again? Most times, it’s just the mind keeping an old loop alive. Remember earlier this week we talked about how 90% of the tens of thousands of thoughts we have in a day, or from the previous day.

Detach from the Story
The 2nd Agreement reminds us: Don’t take anything personally. Many of the things we hold onto aren’t even about us. Let them go without needing validation, revenge, or closure.

Shift from Emotion to Energy
Instead of saying, “I feel stuck,” try “My energy is holding onto something.” The shift from emotion to energy makes it easier to move forward instead of feeling trapped.

Release Through Action
Burn a letter. Speak your truth (even if just to yourself). Take a walk, move, shake it off. Stagnant energy needs movement to be released. This is where we practice flow.

We can’t afford to waste energy on what we can’t change. It’s time to heal. Our energy is better spent on creating, thriving, and moving forward. The past has already taken enough of our time. Let’s not give it any more. 💚✨
