Rise & Flow 👑 🙌🏾
“Nature does not hurry, yet everything gets accomplished”
So after discussing the universal law of Rhythm in May, we reviewed Taoism’s (Daoism) art of doing nothing in July. And I can see the connection between Wu Wei and The law of Rhythm. Today we look at the Rhythm of Wu Wei. And the best place to start is reflecting on how Winnie the Pooh teaches us to go with the flow.
When life feels like a rollercoaster, the Principle of Rhythm reminds us that everything moves in cycles. The highs and lows, the ebb and flow. But here’s the trick: rather than fighting these waves, what if we simply… flowed with them? That’s where Wu Wei comes in.
Let’s do a quick recap, What is Wu Wei?
Wu Wei isn’t about doing nothing—it’s about doing nothing unnecessary. It’s moving in harmony with life’s rhythms, letting energy guide our actions instead of forcing outcomes.
Winnie the Pooh: A Taoist Masterclass
The beloved Winnie the Pooh stories are a surprisingly profound metaphor for Wu Wei and rhythm:
Pooh Bear (Effortless Flow): Pooh represents Wu Wei in its purest form. He doesn’t overthink or rush; he simply moves with the rhythm of the moment. When there’s honey to find, he lets the world guide him there.
Eeyore (Resistance): Eeyore resists the rhythm with pessimism and inaction. His energy vibrates at a low frequency, leaving him stuck in the downswing.
Tigger (Overexertion): Tigger’s boundless energy can disrupt the flow. By forcing action, he often creates chaos instead of solutions.
Rabbit (Over-Control): Rabbit tries to control every situation, resisting the natural flow and creating unnecessary stress.
The Principle of Rhythm Meets Wu Wei
Life is full of ups and downs, moments of clarity, and times of uncertainty. The Principle of Rhythm teaches us to embrace these cycles, while Wu Wei shows us how to do so effortlessly.
When we’re riding life’s highs, Wu Wei reminds us to savor the flow without clinging to it. When challenges arise, it teaches us to let go of resistance and trust the rhythm will carry us back up.
Nikola Tesla’s wisdom about energy and vibration fits here perfectly. By aligning with life’s natural energy, we conserve our own and make room for growth, abundance, and joy.
Lessons from Wu Wei and Pooh:
1. Go With the Flow
When facing a tough situation, ask, Am I resisting or flowing? Trust the process, like Pooh trusting honey will come when the time is right.
2. Conserve Energy
Instead of overexerting (like Tigger) or micromanaging (like Rabbit), step back and observe. Often, the right answer reveals itself when we stop forcing it.
3. Trust the Cycles
If you’re in a financial downswing, remember the Principle of Rhythm: “This too shall pass.” Use the time to rest, reflect, and prepare for the upswing.
Reflection for Today
How can we embody Pooh’s effortless trust in the flow of life? Are we forcing outcomes or aligning with rhythm?
Let’s move with the energy of the universe, embracing the wisdom of rhythm and the art of doing less to achieve more. 🌊✨
