Rise & Realign 👑🙌🏾
It was healing for me to be able to dive into the challenging world of mental poisons, Kleshas. From their roots in Indian Yoga and Buddhist philosophies to their sneaky ways of showing up in our daily lives, we’ve unpacked the ways these poisons can cloud our judgment, harm our relationships, and trap us in cycles of suffering. But we’ve also learned that awareness is the antidote, and growth is the reward.
Here’s a recap of this week’s highlights and takeaways:
Kleshas Are Mental Poisons
They creep in as ignorance, attachment, and aversion in Indian Yoga philosophy—or as desire, anger, and delusion in Buddhism. No matter how they manifest, their impact is the same: toxicity in our thoughts, behaviors, and energy. Recognizing them is the first step to dissolving their grip.
Real World Examples
We’ve explored relatable examples like holding onto toxic relationships (attachment), being consumed by online arguments (aversion), or chasing fleeting highs for validation (desire). These mental poisons thrive in our everyday lives but can be countered with antidotes like self-awareness, compassion, and grounding practices.
Cycles of Suffering
We’ve learned that kleshas fuel the loops we often get stuck in—negative self-talk, comparing ourselves to others, or replaying old mistakes. But through mindfulness, gratitude, and living in alignment with our values (remember The 4 Agreements?), we can break free.
Energy Matters
Toxic thoughts disrupt more than just our moods—they interfere with our energy fields. Practicing heart coherence, embracing stillness (thank you, Taoism), and letting go of attachments can help us recalibrate to a higher vibration.
Key Reflections for the Weekend
– What mental poison has the strongest pull on you lately? How does it manifest in your thoughts or actions?
– What antidotes resonate most? Can you practice one today—whether it’s journaling to explore your aversions or meditating to dissolve attachment?
– How can you redirect your energy toward clarity, balance, and kindness—both to yourself and others?
This week reminded us that while we all carry these mental poisons, we also have the tools to cleanse and heal. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being aware, patient, and willing to grow.
Let’s take this time to detox our minds, center our energy, and reconnect with what truly matters. As always, we’ve got this—together. 🌱✨
Here’s to a reflective weekend, and breaking th se cycles 🙏🏾
