New Discord Mindful Message! 05.01.24

“No one exists without polarities. Everybody has good and bad forces working with them, against them, and within them”

We know this just having experienced life. Life is about taking the bad with the good and vice versa. The work we are putting in, is to become stronger in finding the positive/light in any situation, and encouraging more of that light into our lives. 

In Dharma class a couple of weeks ago my teacher explained there’s a misconception that Buddha said life is “suffering”. It’s life is “unsatisfactory”. Not everyone is suffering, but humans have an unsatisfactory energy to overcome. Where we always desire more, we obtained our desires and still hunger for more in our lives. It’s an endless cycle of always working for more, instead of being present and focused on what we have. The polarity of lacking/missing is having. If we slowly start to reprogram our minds to focus on being grateful for what we have, and not what’s missing our mindset shifts. 

I said all that to say, if everything has a polarity, then there will always be light in any dark moment. So how do we gain a deeper understanding of the  principle of polarity? How can it be applied in various aspects of life to navigate through challenges more effectively?

– Balancing Emotions: Recognize that emotions exist on a spectrum, ranging from positive to negative. When experiencing negative emotions like anger or sadness, seek to understand their opposite counterparts, such as peace or joy. This understanding can help you navigate through difficult emotions and strive for emotional balance.

– Resolving Conflicts: In conflicts or disagreements, acknowledge that there are often two sides to every story. Practice empathy and consider different perspectives to find common ground and resolution. By recognizing the polarity in viewpoints, you can foster understanding and collaboration rather than polarization.

– Seeking Harmony: Understand that life consists of dualities, such as work and play, effort and rest, or yin and yang. Embrace the idea that balance between these polar opposites leads to a more harmonious and fulfilling life. Strive to find equilibrium in your daily routines and activities to promote overall well-being.

– Cultivating Gratitude: Appreciate the contrast between challenging experiences and moments of joy or success. Reflect on how difficult times have contributed to personal growth or resilience, and express gratitude for the lessons learned. Embracing both positive and negative aspects of life can deepen gratitude and enhance overall satisfaction.

– Navigating Change: Understand that change is a natural part of life and often involves transitions between polarities, such as beginnings and endings. Embrace change as an opportunity for growth and transformation, recognizing that endings can lead to new beginnings and vice versa. By accepting the cyclical nature of change, you can navigate transitions with greater ease and resilience.

Never allow yourself to believe there is a dark/heavy moment you can’t get yourself out of. You are the creator, your not alone, you can do this 🦾
