One thing we learn on this path is the power of light….

“Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only LIGHT can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

This voyage to wisdom has led us through the paths of generosity, morality, and 3 others to get to Wisdom. Each path encompasses compassion. Rather it’s compassion for others, self, the process, the journey….Wisdom can not be obtained without it.

As we see the pain and anguish throughout the world, it can become challenging to stay on his path. But with all your willpower, you must not give in. We must focus on the things that are within our control. We practice compassion and do what we can, that is within our means.

I’ve learned I will never understand the things I see in this world. So I’ve stopped trying to understand because it did more harm than good. It was not within my circle of things I could control, so I acknowledge it did not serve a purpose on my journey. I’ve turned my focus within to learn more about my own internal light. The balance I’m trying to establish is how to foster this light while also sharing it with others so that they can see their own light.

I do not desire victory nor defeat, only peace.

“Victory creates hatred. Defeat creates suffering. The wise ones desire neither victory nor defeat”

Think of it this way, if we each did our part to achieve supreme wisdom, what would a wise world look like? Would it look like what we see on the news today?

I’m doing my part by setting my intentions to practicing mindfulness & the 6 Paramitas. I want to obtain wisdom and strengthen my connection to Source/Divine/Universe/Humanity/God… whatever name you give it. Our experiences in life just give it different names, but it’s the same connection we all seek.
