Did you know there is a theory on the relationship between light and shadow in psychology? Its the understanding of what a personal shadow is. The theory is the shadow dictates a person’s thoughts, actions, behaviors, and habits on an unconscious level. Unlike light, it remains beneath the surface and may not ever get fully explored.

Some times darkness isn’t just around us, but it’s also at a subconscious level. So reevaluating how we are doing internally is critical to ensuring We get beneath the surface of problems. We can say we are fine, everything can look good on the surface. But for example if we find ourselves irritated with almost everything, or we are lacking patience, it’s something in the shadows we aren’t processing.

According to Carl Jung, “A man who is possessed by his shadow is always standing in his own light and falling into his own traps…living below his own level.”

The solution to break through the shadows is shining more light. Surrounding yourself with positive people, places, and things. Talking through dark/heavy experiences with someone you trust so that you can process it internally. This is how you prevent the shadows from overwhelming your actions.

If Carl Jung is right, then we were designed to be the ✨, it’s part of our existence. So never doubt the light you were created with. It can break thru any darkness/shadows.
