New Discord Mindful Message! 06.28.23

There are life changing benefits to journaling. A few of those are understanding yourself better, overcoming trauma, and achieving a more positive outlook.

From my own personal experience,It’s not an easy commitment to make. I have 10+ journals waiting to be cracked open. I make excuses & practice avoidance by stacking them with other books so they get lost. It’s obvious that there is some fear causing me to go into flight mode. I’ve published 2 books, I write SOPs, and whatever technical writing assistance needed at work with no problems. So I’m not afraid of writing, I’m afraid of writing to myself. The negative emotions this has brought me has made me anxious.

Then this week it occurred to me, my journaling doesn’t look what I’ve been told it should look like…For almost a year I come to this space to share a positive message. I leave sticky notes around the house for my family with positive affirmations. These messages I share give me a better understanding of myself, this space has definitely helped me reflect and over come things from my past. And my mornings are definitely brighter because of it.

So as long as my destination is the same, who cares what path I took to get there. This space and the little notes I see around my house is my gentle reminder…This is how I’m showing up for myself.

Don’t let me or anyone on this earth define your healing process for you. We can share what our experiences have done for us, but at the end of the day all that matters is how you show up for yourself.
