Veve at Archer Road mixed-use neighborhood coming near Haile Plantation

After more than seven years following the submission of a preliminary development application, construction of The Veve at Archer Road is now underway.

The approved development, directly south of the intersection of Archer Road and Southwest 91st Street, will be a traditional mixed-use neighborhood that includes 22,000 square feet of non-residential space.

Plans also show 172 residential units will be built, along with a clubhouse and amenities sprawling the 26 acres property.

The original development plan in mid-2015 called for a development with 22,000 square feet of non-residential space and a maximum of 228 residential units.

LCA Development and Realty

Multerra LLC sold the property to Archer Road BTR LLC — a subsidiary company of Orlando-based LCA Development and Realty — in June 2021 for $2.4 million.

LCA Development and Realty, owned by University of Florida alumnus Lee Chira, primarily focuses its investments along the I-4 and I-95 coordinators from Tampa to Jacksonville, according to its website.

Chira, a member of the Gator Boosters Board of Directors, was honored with the renaming of the area outside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium where the statues of Florida’s three Heisman Trophy winners stand following a $1.5 million donation in 2015.

EDA Consultants Inc.

Gainesville engineering firm EDA Consultants Inc. worked on plans for the project. The firm’s past work can be seen all across Gainesville, including at the Malcolm Randal VA Medical Center, University of Florida Marching Band Practice Field, the Haile Plantation Village Center, and several local hotels and shopping centers, to name a few.

The property on the south side of Archer Road at S.W. 91st Street is the only property in the county owned by Archer Road BTR LLC, according to a search on the Alachua County Property Appraiser’s website.

Multerra LLC still holds approximately 194 acres in the county, with more than 100 of those acres located near the The Veve at Archer Road site. A search of Multerra LLC’s address shows a home belonging to Euliano Neil Russell II and Tammy Yachabach.
