Cryptocurrency Prices Today: Bitcoin, Ethereum shed up to 6%


Most major cryptocurrencies are trading in red today amid news that property giant China Evergrande could default on its debt. The global crypto market cap declined over 5 percent to $1.90 trillion over the previous day, data from coinmarketcap.com shows.
Bitcoin has fallen nearly 6 percent in the last 24 hours and is trading above $42,000. In the past week, the crypto has shed over 6 percent.

Ethereum is priced at around $3,000, which is a near 5 percent decrease from what it was 24 hours ago. It has declined more than 8 percent in the last week.
The prices of XRP, Dogecoin, Polkadot, Solana and Cardano too have slid in the past 24 hours after negative news emerged from China.
Of these, Dogecoin and Polkadot have lost more than 6 percent over the previous day.
