Draper Goren Holm Backs Blockchain-Based Virtual Real Estate Platform SuperWorld

Draper Goren Holm, in partnership with Tim Draper, Alon Goren, and Josef Holm, has invested in Ethereum-based virtual real estate platform SuperWorld.

SuperWorld virtual real estate lets you stake a claim on over 64 billion virtual plots of land geographically mapped onto Planet Earth. Each plot of land in SuperWorld is a 100m x 100m polygon (about the size of Yankee Stadium in New York) that corresponds to real-world space.

The platform uses the ERC-721 standard of tradable assets, meaning that each plot is a non-fungible token (NFT) — characterized by its digital scarcity as a collectible and wholly unique asset to buy, sell, trade, or hold. When a user buys property in SuperWorld, they acquire a unique and irreplicable piece of the Ethereum blockchain, along with monetization opportunities from digital commerce (NFTs), e-commerce, gaming, and advertising activity on their respective properties.

Virtual real estate is the foundation of what’s been coined the “metaverse,” a digital realm and shared virtual space where people work, play, learn and socialize. SuperWorld empowers users to develop and create whatever they want – from augmented reality and 3D animation to text, video, and audio installations – anywhere in the world. Owners of plots become stakeholders on the platform and earn a share of commerce that results from user activity on their plot.

“We’re stoked to welcome SuperWorld to the Draper Goren Holm family. What an amazing product backed by an incredible team,” added Alon Goren, Founding Partner at Draper Goren Holm. “Aside from geeking out on the platform myself, I’m excited to see Super World revolutionize digital real estate!”
