Despite the bottom falling out of the crypto and NFT markets, music NFTs still delivered respectable if not stratospheric sales this June.
Overall the Top 10 music NFT’s delivered $1.1 million in sales according to Billboard based on their analysis of sales data on 14 platforms.
Two trends worth noting:
- There is a precipitous drop in total sales as you get below the top four or five sellers
- None of the NFTs in the Top 10 was released with the involvement of a major label
“Whether the market’s up or down, we’re in the business of how do we help artists reach the most amount of people and how do we help artists make money from their music?” David Greenstein, founder of NFT platform Sound.xyz and former A&R exec at Atlantic, recently told Billboard. “The mission transcends a bull or a bear market.”
