NEW YORK: Netflix rolled out a new website, Top 10 on Netflix, that measures its most-viewed films and series by the amount of hours users spend watching them.
According to the new metric, “Red Notice,” starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds, has been watched for 148.7 million hours globally.
The first season of “Squid Game” ranks as Netflix’s most-watched show or film ever, with 1.6 billion hours viewed.
At its current rate, “Red Notice” — which received largely poor reviews — could become Netflix’s most popular film ever. That title currently is held by “Bird Box,” with 282 million hours viewed.
LOS ANGELES: Miramax filed a lawsuit against director Quentin Tarantino over the director’s plans to create and auction off a series of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) based on his work on “Pulp Fiction.”
The company alleges that Tarantino’s planned offerings violate copyrights.
Tarantino announced plans to sell seven NFTs, digital works rendered unique and attached to a specific owner through cryptocurrency technology.
The NFTs to go on sale include scanned digital copies of handwritten script pages for uncut versions of scenes from the film, with audio commentary and other elements. Each will also include “secret” aspects accessible only to the owner.
