Cardano Weekly Chart Puts in View After CMTA Recognition, but ADA Must Break Its Descending Channel

Cardano remains trapped inside a long-running descending channel on the weekly chart, leaving ADA with an important technical hurdle before higher levels at $0.41, $0.78, $1.18, and eventually $3 can come into play.

The setup arrives as Cardano gains a new institutional credential. The Capital Markets and Technology Association (CMTA) recently recognized Cardano’s CIP-0113 Programmable Asset Tokens implementation as equivalent to its CMTAT standard for tokenized shares.

This means issuers can use the Cardano implementation to issue ledger-based equity securities eligible for certification under CMTA’s Tokenized Shares scheme.

CMTA’s ecosystem includes major Swiss financial institutions such as UBS, Pictet and Lombard Odier. UBS reported $7.3 trillion in invested assets at the end of September.

Importantly, the primary sources confirm CMTA recognition of Cardano’s token standard, rather than Cardano becoming a CMTA member.

ADA Remains Inside Weekly Descending Channel

The attached Binance ADA/USDT weekly chart shows Cardano continuing to trade inside a descending channel formed after its previous advance.

Cardano’s Binance weekly chart shows ADA trading inside a descending channel, with support near $0.1411 and $0.25 emerging as the first breakout test before $0.41, $0.78 and $1.18.

The structure resembles earlier bearish channels highlighted on the same chart. In previous cycles, ADA repeatedly moved lower between descending parallel trendlines before eventually establishing a bottom and beginning a larger recovery.

In the current structure, ADA fell toward the highlighted $0.1411 support region, produced a rebound toward roughly $0.25 and then pulled back again. The latest section of the chart places ADA around $0.19, broadly consistent with the current CoinMarketCap quotation near $0.193.

That rebound has therefore not yet produced a confirmed trend reversal. ADA remains underneath the upper boundary of the descending channel.

The green area around $0.14-$0.17 represents the main support zone visible on the chart. Holding above that region keeps the possibility of a higher low alive. A sustained weekly breakdown below approximately $0.1411, however, would weaken the proposed bottoming structure.

$0.25 Comes Before the Larger Cardano Targets

For the bullish scenario, the first meaningful obstacle is around $0.25, where the descending trendline and recent rebound high converge.

From a starting price of $0.193, ADA would need to gain approximately 29.5% to reach $0.25.

More importantly, simply touching that area would not confirm a breakout. ADA would need to establish a weekly close above the descending channel and then hold above the broken trendline to provide stronger evidence that the multi-month downtrend is ending.

Only after that confirmation would the higher horizontal levels become increasingly relevant.

The chart identifies $0.41 as the next major resistance. This level previously acted as an important boundary during earlier stages of the decline.

Above $0.41, the chart maps $0.78 and $1.18 as subsequent resistance zones. Both correspond to areas where ADA previously encountered substantial price activity.

The much more distant $3 level sits at the top of the projection. It is close to Cardano’s historical peak region, but the chart does not establish that ADA will reach $3 simply because similar descending structures occurred before.

CMTA Recognition Strengthens Cardano’s Tokenization Case

The fundamental development behind the setup concerns regulated asset issuance rather than ADA price directly.

CMTA’s Expert Committee determined that Cardano’s programmable token implementation contains the functions required by its framework for tokenizing equity securities. The system supports controls including KYC-restricted transfers, freezes, forced transfers, seizures and supply limitations.

This gives issuers another blockchain option for securities that can meet the CMTA Tokenized Shares certification framework. It does not, by itself, guarantee increased ADA demand or a technical breakout.

For now, Cardano’s next observable test remains much closer to current price: ADA must protect the $0.14-$0.17 support region and then overcome the descending weekly trendline around the $0.25 area before $0.41 and the larger targets become technically relevant.
