Rise & Grind
Apologies for not wrapping up last week’s post on Friday. I set my intentions to not go on Social Media, or shop that day. February 28th, 2025 was an eventful day in the news. I spent this weekend reflecting on it, and kind of talking to people with different perspectives. And it all led me to “Ego”.
You see ego is a double edged sword, and can be a barrier to peace. It’s both a protector and a barrier, shaping our identity while also creating division. Both internally and externally.
We did a week on EGO back in December 2023. What we discovered that week was Ego is a defense mechanism. Protecting identity, but also fueling conflict, comparison, and separation. I’ll be expanding on what was discovered that week, while focusing on ego’s role in conflict, peace, and personal growth. At the end of the day, I want to believe Peace is what most of us want. With global tensions rising, it’s crucial to reflect on how ego influences division. Not just between nations but also in our personal lives. Because change starts with us, and understanding the energy of Ego will benefit us. Let’s start the week off by recognizing ego’s influence.
Ego thrives on comparison, validation, and control. It’s the voice that says:
“I must win this argument.”
“I can’t be seen as weak.”
“They need to see things my way.”
On a personal level, this creates resentment, stubbornness, and unnecessary suffering. On a collective level, it fuels political and global conflicts.
When we reflect on the teachings of The 4 Agreements, ego aligns with Domestication & The Dream of the Planet. Our early conditioning teaches us to attach our identity to external approval. We become trapped in cycles of seeking validation and defending our “truth” at all costs.
Ego in Personal & Global Conflict
Think about how ego plays out in daily life:
– Relationships: A disagreement turns into a battle of “who’s right?” rather than understanding.
– Workplace: Pride stops us from accepting feedback, hindering growth.
– Social Media: People argue not to learn, but to prove their viewpoint is superior.
-Global Conflict: World leaders, driven by ego, prioritize power over peace.
On a macro level, ego divides nations, fuels war, and prevents resolution. On a micro level, it keeps us from finding inner peace and affects our relationships. The same root issue. Attachment to being “right”—exists on all levels.
So How Do We Break Free?
The 1st step in removing ego’s grip, is recognizing its presence. Eckhart Tolle says, “The moment you notice ego, you are no longer completely identified with it. A higher dimension of consciousness has become active.”
Let’s observe our ego in action. Are we clinging to our opinions? Are we reacting from pride instead of wisdom? Are we holding grudges over small things?
True power lies in detaching from the need to win, defend, or prove anything. This is how we move towards peace, both within ourselves and in the world.
By eliminating ego’s grip, we open space for clarity, harmony, and connection. By eliminating ego, we remember we are one. My hope is that each of us can set our intentions to transcending ego and embodying peace.
Infinite Prosperity & Abundance To All On This Journey. Thank you for sharing this positive space that is made for the royal creator within each of us.
